JCM believes a personal, hands-on approach helps us better understand our customers' needs. Project Discovery is always the first step and cost-sensitive customers are encouraged to seek out any one of the existing 59 nationwide Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Centers for guidance. For more information please visit: http://www.mep.nist.gov

With project discovery complete, we then generate a "1Site Map" and either a "2Value Stream Map" or a "3Process Map", which ever is applicable to your business model. The Site Map helps us understand any physical constraints the solution must endure while the Value Stream/Process Maps graphically depicts the present operation and process flow. Using 'LEAN MFG Principles' we then generate a "4Future State Map" and chart the expected Return on Investment (ROI) that can be realized from using the LEAN process model. Often times immediately after map generation, hidden costs and lost opportunities associated with the present operation become a little more visible.

Finally, we sit down and get to know our customers, personally. By doing so we gain a better understanding of their individual needs and the equipment best suited to their particular business model.

1. Site Map - Physical representation of the available floor space, containing building construction, location of wall plugs and any other physical objects/obstructions noted during discovery
2. Value Stream Map - Graphically depicts the present state of a product, process, or service using current data
3. Process Map - Graphical representation of the sequence of steps or tasks constituting a process, from raw materials through to the finished product
4. Future State Map; Graphical representation of the future state of a process using Lean Manufacturing Principles
